Meet Joy

I’m a no-nonsense, hilariously authentic conversationalist kind of woman in my 40s, un-fantastically going through perimenopause (everyone meet Penelope, my spare tire and comfy love handles that stay with me through thick and non-thin).

So let’s get real. I’ll go first (to break the ice).

I’ve been married twice, experienced domestic abuse, gone through detox, attempted suicide, and now have a 7-year-old son with brain cancer.

I’ve seen more death in my world, and have walked more people through their final breaths than most experience in a lifetime.

Because of this, I can’t not embrace living moment by moment. And because of this, I’ve learned the secret to peace during the most earth-shattering storms and the calmest of seas.

My journey is imperfect, rough, and glorious.

And so I’m here. Today. Holding on to faith for dear life, journeying through the unknown, learning to let go of the unnecessary, making space for the impossible, and allowing grace to be the last call when I can’t handle another lemon life puts in front of me.
